My kit & service

  • It’s taken me a while to build my kit. I do use mainly Charlotte Tilbury which is very bridal! It’s also very sensitive skin friendly, cruelty free and 95% vegan.

I use only the best products for my clients. Brands such as: Charlotte Tilbury, Makeup by Mario, Fenty Beauty, Hourglass, rare beauty and more!
I am fully insured and take client hygiene very seriously, so all products as well as brushes are sanitised between clients.

  • I will ask you to complete a booking form. This is very important so I have all your key info and will be where I ask you if you have any allergy’s. I am not responsible for any allergic reactions this will need to be made aware to me in the booking form and I will also ask verbally at your appointment. If you happen to be running late please let me know. These things happen however if it’s longer than a certain time this could mean your appointment can’t go ahead and the deposit will be lost as a cancellation fee.

  • We can discuss location when booking. I travel anywhere and can even do destination weddings! So travel isn’t an issue however for peak wedding season I set a 1.5 hour travel limit each way most of the time but if you want me to travel further a field or aren’t sure how far away I am to you then please just ask.

Trials

I always advise you to have a trial before your big day, this is to ensure that you are 100% happy with the final makeup look and also good to check no allergies. This is done at Beauty Matters where I’m based. We will sit down together and discuss your ideas and vision for your makeup and your theme of your wedding.

Once you are happy with your final look I will document all of the products I used and photograph your makeup so you can refer to it whenever you wish. I recommend taking as many photos as you can after your trial in different light and to please let me know about any tweaks you want. Being honest about what you want and think the better!

Glowing Wedding Makeup
  • You can have your trial whenever you like. I do normally recommend 6-3 months before your wedding day. Trials do always take longer than the time on the day as that’s your time to try a couple of different options and to check you’re happy with every detail. Trials can take anything from 1-2 hours just for the bride so please give enough time. I do also get some brides wanting trials 2 years before then another one nearer the time which is also fine.

  • Yes, trials for the bride are so vital for us to come up with your perfect bridal makeup look. Trials for bridesmaids, Mother of and flower girls are not essential however I do offer that service as most of my clients do tend to want someone in the bridal party to have one too. Especially if someone hasn’t worn makeup before or someone that can be particular. Also its good to check all the products agree with your skin and rules out reactions on the wedding day.

  • For your trial, please get photos of ideas ready you’re interested in so we can have a look on your trial. If you plan on getting a tan or lashes for your wedding, then its sometimes a good idea to do this for your trial. This way it gives you as idea of how it will look on your wedding day. Things like facial waxing I would do a week- 4 days before your trial and wedding day as too near before the makeup won’t stick to them areas. If the trial is taking place at your house, please have a table and a chair ready. On the trial please be as picky and honest as you can so we can get your perfect look! I won’t be offended if you did want to change anything. I also recommend wearing a white top and try and style your hair a similar way to how you want it for the wedding day. This will help give you an oveall idea of what you’ll look like for the wedding. Ill do a full skincare prep too.

  • A trial can take up to two hours for just the bride. Bride plus one other for trials is about 3 hours.

  • I advise you to have some photos ready on your phone of inspo and makeup ideas you’d like.

  • Yes! If you have any special requests for example if you’re vegan, then please let me know and I can do a full vegan makeup look for you.

How to come to your trial

Sometimes it can be a good idea to come with your normal makeup on just how you always do it so i have an idea of how you like it. However you can always just come with a bare face and show me photos of inspo picture or your normal look you do.

When coming to me for a makeup appointment I work closely with you to design your perfect makeup look, so you can look your best and still feel like yourself. Please please be as open and honest as possible. This helps me out massively. If there is something you want to test out but then decide you don’t like it we can easily change things. I want you to be as happy with it as possible and would much rather you be picky and tell me what you love and don’t love so we can change a couple of things for you.

I will ask you a lot of questions as this is my way of finding out how you like each area of your face so don’t worry if you don’t always know the answers it’s just my way of finding out how you like it.

Timelines

On your wedding morning I aim to make it as stress free and relaxing as possible.

However sometimes things happen which aren’t in my control. I do my best to go above and beyond incase something happens on your morning to make sure it’s as perfect for you as possible. I will make you a timing plan of your wedding morning. This can all be personal to each bride, venues and other factors. I roughly say plan to have all hair and makeup done an hour before your ceremony time - you then have the last hour to get into your dress, photos, dress reveals and registrar meetings.
This last hour also goes super fast so better to have that full hour then to be rushing around getting hot and stressed. When we plan your timings I also suggest the bride to go last or 2nd to last. This way it’s as fresh makeup as possible. It’s also helpful for me to know the names of everyone having makeup before the day so it runs smoothly.

If you don’t get access to your venue/room until a certain time then please make this aware to me so we don’t have any delays or issues. In some situations we might need to start doing makeup from one location then moving to another. I provide a top up kit for all brides which has a bit of powder, lash glue and lipstick in. However if you’d like to have the full size products to top up with then please make sure you bring these with you on your wedding day. All bridal party members I would advise for them to bring a lipstick for them to top up with too and drinking out of straws where possible.

FAQ’s

  • I recommend to start looking for your makeup artist as soon as your wedding date is confirmed and booked with the venue. This then gives plenty of notice to ask around for quotes and to hopefully not disappoint with your date being taken.

  • Please allow up to one hour for the bride and 45mins per person for makeup application. This way your wedding morning will run smoothly without any stress. I recommend having everyone ready 1 hour before your ceremony starts. This way it gives you time to all get into your dresses and have photos taken.

  • Your makeup should last all day however your lipstick will eventually wear off. I can provide my brides with a top up kit. This will include: a bit of powder on a powder puff to keep the shine and oil controlled, mini lash glue and a bit of lipstick in a mini lipstick tube. However, some of my brides prefer to buy the lipstick and powder themselves to keep on the day and for afterwards. If you’re oily I recommend blotting sheets too. Please tell everyone having makeup to bring a lipstick to touch up with.

  • Invest in a good skincare routine. Find out what your skin type is and find products to suit. I also recommend not over doing your skin with too much skincare and its better to stick with the basics such as a Cleanser, a Toner, and a good moisturizer. Stop using baby wipes and cleanse your face morning and night. Do a facemask/ exfoliate your skin once a week. Please don’t try new products just before your wedding as it could irritate or break you out. I recommend getting your skincare routine sorted a good 6-3 months before the wedding. If you aren’t sure on products ask me at the trial and I can send you over recommendations of what’s best to use to prep your skin for the wedding.

I highly recommend having regular facials at beauty matters.

  • Yes, by myself the most I can do is groups of 7. However, does depends on the time of your wedding. If you did have a larger group, then I can get an assistant to help me on your day.

I can be accompanied by an assistant if necessary. I only do makeup however I love to recommend a couple of reliable hairdressers and other wedding suppliers when I can so please just ask for recommendations.

  • Destination wedding package to be discussed and a personal quote will be given.

(N.B. A travel fee will apply if applicable)

  • If you have a booking with me and have trouble with stairs or accessibility then please make this aware to me so I can adapt and make your visit as comfortable as possible. This could also mean me coming to you if that’s better. If you have anything else you think I should be made aware of then please let me know in a non judgemental and safe environment.
